The China Council on International Cooperation on Environment and Development established a Task Force on Ecosystem services and ecosystem management in December 2008, focusing on forests, grasslands and wetlands. It aims to:

● identify best practices from Chinese and international experience;
● present recommendations and policy options for integrating ecosystem services into development decision-making.
The Task Force was co-sponsored by CCICED and EU-China Biodiversity Program (ECBP).
It was co-chaired by Prof. Chen Yiyu, Standing Committee Member of the National People's Congress and President of National Natural Science Foundation of China, and Prof. Beate Jessel, President of Federal Agency for Nature Conservation, Germany. Task Force members were experienced experts from international and domestic universities, institutes, universities and government agencies.
This brochure is produced based on the Study Report of Ecosystem Services and Management Strategy submitted to CCICED in November 2010.
