Physical and Chemical Analysis Center 

LENOM’s Physical and Chemical Analysis Center is a service, research facility for the study of ecological elements (C, N, P,S, etc.) in ecology, environment, hydrology, and natural resources.

The center possesses a Bran+Luebbe AutoAnalyzer 3, a Agilent 7890A Gas Chromatograph, a SmartChem200™ discrete chemistry analyzer , a total organic carbon (TOC) analysis Liqui Toc II, a vario Max CN Element Analyzer. These tools allow LENOM scientists to perform quantitative analyses on ecological elements in solids, liquids, and gases.

The facility’s management maintains the instruments, develops methods, and provides training and analytical support. The facility also provides graduate students valuable hands-on experience with the instruments.

In the last four years, about 40 graduate students have used the facility. Center users within come from LENOM'S divisions and CERN’s field stations.

The facility also provides analytical support to students and scientists from China’s universities and other research institutes.
